Mia turned 6 months old today! I cannot believe it's been half of a year since she arrived! Time really flies by! She seems to be doing new things every day now! About 4 or 5 days ago she started sitting up completely by herself with no supports! It's adorable. She's able to roll from her back to her stomach, onto her hands and knees and then into a sitting position all by herself and within seconds! Then, on Sunday, she put both of her hands on the crib railing and pulled herself up onto her knees! We're gonna have to lower the crib mattress soon otherwise she's gonna learn how to hang over the edge and we certainly don't want her falling out!
She is now drinking two bottles at daycare each day that are between 7.5 and 8 ounces! I am still nursing her once before work and twice when we get home. We continue feeding her rice cereal every night and just started giving it to her twice a day. She loves it mixed with breast milk and also likes it with formula. She really seems to enjoy it even more when we warm it in the microwave for about 7 or 8 seconds. It makes a big difference! We will start her on real baby foods this weekend! First up will be sweet potatoes and then squash. We have a few of the Gerber baby food fruits and vegetables to start off with and then Matt's mom is going to be making homemade organic baby food for Mia! So that should be good! I think she's even going to make some pumpkin baby food puree from the pumpkins she has been growing in her garden.
Mia is such a happy baby. She is always smiling and just ever so curious about her surroundings. I love watching her. When she smiles really big, she scrunches up her nose and it's just about the cutest thing in the world. I have to say again and again how much we are truly enjoying each and every moment with this precious little angel of ours......
