Babbling up a storm.....still teething and almost crawling too!

I feel like I haven't posted in quite some time. So much happens every few days it is difficult to remember all the things that have been going on! Mia's new favorite thing is babbling up a storm, which she has been doing for about 2 weeks now. She says "da da da da da" a LOT and sometimes it sounds like she just says "da da" or "da dee". It's absolutely adorable! I'm trying to teach her "Ma ma"! She is also on the verge of crawling, she is always up on her knees and does move forward but it doesn't quite look like crawling perfected. We feel it will be VERY soon though. She also knows how to sit up now but kind of leans to the side on one hand. I'm still breastfeeding her about 3x a day and she is getting 2 bottles of breastmilk mixed with formula when she is at daycare. She is drinking 7 to 7.5 ounces per bottle now!!!
I'm loving my new job's schedule which allows me to pick her up at daycare by 3:15pm and be home shortly after that! Although I'm still getting used to the routine of being up at 5:30am every day it is so worth it to get out at 2:30pm!
I'm not sure if I even wrote about my new job but I started working as a school adjustment counselor at the Gorman Fort Banks Elementary School in Winthrop last Monday, September 21st. So far it's been great, shorter work days, holidays, vacation weeks and summers off and the best is that I have every Thursday off too! I love working a 4 day week, it's been nice so far. Hopefully I don't get laid off at the end of the school year, as I hear that when there are budget cuts in the school district, the school adjustment counselor positions are the first ones to get cut!
Anyways, back to Mia, who is the reason why I write this blog : )
She is definitely going to be cutting teeth any day now, I took her to the doctor's yesterday because she has been congested for about 3 weeks now. The runny/stuffy nose went away about a week and a half ago but the congestion remained. The doctor checked her over and said she is fine but the congestion may be due to the dry air. The doctor recommended we run a humidifier which we have been but we had it on a low setting so last night we put it up high. Welllll, Mia woke up this morning with the runniest and stuffiest nose ever! And drooling up a storm as usual. Let's just say there was no shortage of snot and drool today. She's had a runny nose all day and I'm hoping it gets better instead of worse! The doctor also said her bottom gums are red and swollen and appears teeth will cut through soon. She did have a temp of 100.5 tonight so we gave her baby Tylenol and took her temp again an hour and a half later and it went down to 98.6 so it definitely helped! Oh, she was also weighed at the doc's yesterday and she finally weighs 13 lbs!!!! Yay! Still small though, in the 10th percentile for weight at her age. I can't believe a week from today she will be six months old. We are going to try baby food next week, we decided to give her sweet potatoes as her first food as the doc recommended giving a yellow or orange vegetable as the first food. We continue giving her rice cereal mixed with breastmilk on a daily basis, two tablespoons mixed with about an ounce of milk. We may increase it to 2 tbsp twice a day. She has gotten used to eating it. The key was mixing it with breast milk instead of formula ---she enjoys it so much better now!
Ok, well that's all for now. I know I must've forgotten something but as soon as I remember, I'll put up another posting!
