Almost crawling and soon to be cutting teeth!

For about the past week or week and a half, Mia has started her new favorite activity. As usual, she starts off by immediately rolling over from her back to her belly and then she gets up on her knees and puts her hands on the floor and rocks back and forth. She has been getting better and better at this each day and goes really fast sometimes even hopping forward on her knees! She even put one knee in front of the other and looks like she is going to crawl at any moment! Just a reminder that she turned 5 months old this past Monday! We are so very proud of her but are a little scared that if she starts crawling early we are in for some trouble! Time to baby proof the house already! She also takes FOREVER to get changed and dressed in the morning as she will NOT stay still for even a second and I'm forever trying to keep her on her back to change her diaper and put on a new outfit! We've tried everything to keep her still - toys as a distraction, singing, talking, putting a mobile above the changing table, etc. Nothing works! She just flips over and gets right on her knees and looks around. Hahaha. Oh well......
Recently, Mia has had some pain from teething. She usually sleeps on average 10 hours a night but last night she woke up several times screaming in pain! Poor little thing. It looks like the teeth might cut through soon. I went to the Thursday Mommy and Baby group today and got lots of suggestions from the other moms on what to do for teething pain. So far I've given her cold teethers, a frozen face cloth to chew on, baby Tylenol (just last night), tried rubbing her gums with my finger and nursing. She didn't really want to nurse last night as it didn't seem to be soothing her and she is having difficulty breathing again due to a stuffy yet runny nose! Tonight I may give her some teething tablets that dissolve under the tongue as they were suggested by several moms whose babies have already begun to cut teeth.
Today was a fun day of mommy/baby activities. We started the day off by going to the mommy and baby group, then visited JoAnne (my lactation consultant who hasn't seen Mia in about 3 months!) and some of my maternity nurses on the post-partum floor! It was so weird to be back up there, I even saw my old room! The nurses all cooed over Mia and said how cute she was. JoAnne was SO happy to see us! I love her! Then after our visit was over, Mia and I joined some other moms and their babies for lunch at Acapulco's Mexican restaurant in Beverly. Later on in the afternoon, we met up with some other moms at the Salem Farmers Market and got some goodies and went to a wine tasting! It was a lot of fun!
