First feeding of rice cereal!

We reached a very important event---last night, for the first time, Mia had her first meal of rice cereal! We got everything all set up, made sure she had a bib on, mixed 2 tsps. of Gerber rice cereal with about 6 or 7 tsps. of formula, got out one of her purple spoons, made sure the camera was on video mode and gave her the first bite! Her initial facial expression was one of confusion as she slowly moved her mouth with the cereal in it. She seemed pretty neutral about the whole experience. She didn't really act like she loved it but she didn't cry or spit it out too much. Of course a lot dribbled out onto her bib and it was all over her face (SO adorable!) but I think she got in at least a few good bites. She didn't finish the whole serving, but hey it was her first time. I think as she learns how to eat off a spoon and gets used to the taste of the cereal she will do better each time. Then, in about a month from now, we will start having her try fruits and vegetables. What a fun time! I can't believe she will be 5 months old in just one week from today....wow......I am definitely enjoying my time with her. Tomorrow we are off to visit one of my childhood friends who just recently had her first baby. He's already over 3 weeks old so I can't wait to meet him tomorrow!
