The big TWO is less than a month away!

I have not updated our blog for over 4 months now. I gotta get on the ball! Basically the whole winter has gone by without me writing so much as one word. Woah, is there a LOT to catch up on. Where to begin? Mia is still the same wonderfully amazing child that she has always been. Except even better! She is SUCH a character with all her facial expressions, sayings, made up games, imaginative play and dress up (man does this kid love to try on all her clothes, ESPECIALLY her summer clothes and bathing suits). She loves to gasp and exclaim "Oh my god!" whenever she sees something that catches her attention. I continuously try to correct her and always say "Oh my goodness" after she says her thing but she continues with the "oh my god" phrase quite often. I have to admit it's hilarious! She also continues to speak at the level of a 3 year old and speaks in full sentences (more than 5 or 6 words) at all times. Just yesterday she was eating dinner and pointed out to us "That's a big hot dog!" as it was a Costco hot dog, LOL! And when I was getting dressed for yoga last night she pointed to my sports bra that I had just put on and said "Mama wear this. Mama's going to yoga". Matt and I swear she's the smartest little thing in the world! She LOVES to make observations about everything around her! She'll comment on the weather "Lots of snow, or it's hot out, it's cold, it's raining, etc. She'll comment on what people are doing around her "baby's crying, or baby need a pacifier, or doggie eating a bone, etc. She'll even comment about the nature of things around her. Today she pointed to a car in the parking lot of Music Man and said "That car's really dirty". I swear it wasn't mine, haha!
On the food and milk updates, Mia was completely weaned off of bottles at about 21 months. I can't believe that was only 2 months ago as it feels like forever since the last time I gave her a bottle. We just stopped giving her the final bottle at night (which is all she was getting) and she really didn't put up a fuss at all. She of course does not drink the 24 oz of milk per day like the doctor recommends until age 2, but what am I gonna do? She will drink milk in her sippy cup but probably less than half the recommended daily intake. Her appetite, however, has GREATLY improved!!! She eats 3 meals a day and eats very good sized portions and is open to trying a vast array of foods! I am SO happy she has turned this corner! I'd say her eating habits have improved over the past couple months. She loves mac and cheese, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, vegetable medleys (seriously) and of course still loves loves loves cheese! She eats a lot of fruit in the mornings (strawberries, blueberries, grapes, bananas) and usually a waffle and/or yogurt. Still give her the YoBaby yogurt made with whole milk to keep the pounds on her. She weighed 23.9 lbs at her 21 month appt and I'm thinking she'll weigh over 24 lbs at her 2 year check up which is only a month away!!!
I can't believe our baby is now a full fledged toddler and is turning 2 years old in just 4 short weeks!!! Four weeks from today in fact........wow! We enjoy every second with her and constantly remark how incredible it is to love such a child! We are so very blessed.
