It's November already!

Time continues to fly by and so do the days I am now spending as a SAHM to Mia. It's officially chilly in the Boston area (even though last Thursday was 75 degrees and we played at Cy Tenney Park wearing t-shirts and no jackets!). Now the cold has set in and we have the heat on all the time.
We took Mia trick or treating for the first time on Sunday night and she had a lot of fun! She was a monkey this year for Halloween and she looked adorable in her costume. She got the hang of trick or treating and was even able to say "trick or treat" when prompted! She knew to take a piece of candy when the bowl was offered to her at people's houses, but a few times she said "I take two" and while I laughed and tried telling her that one piece of candy was enough, the person who was passing out candy laughed in amazement that she said that and eagerly offered a second piece to her!!!
Mia continues to expand her amazing vocabulary and is now regularly speaking in 3 and 4 word sentences. I tried to resume my writing down the list of her words and it has exceeded 200 words at this point. Common phrases you may hear Mia say are:
"I hear the car", or "I hear the truck" when she hears them pass outside our house
"I watch TV" or "I watch Elmo" (her favorite character on Sesame Street and of course Elmo's World is her favorite segment!) "Mama, read the book"
"Dada work"
Most recently a less pleasant phrase "I pick a nose" as she has so joyously discovered this yucky action, haha.
A very sweet and heart melting phrase she just began saying over the past week or so is "Dada I miss you" to Matt when talking to him on the phone when he's at work or driving home from work. It's the sweetest but saddest thing we have ever heard!
Oh and she has discovered the phrase "Mama (or Dada) kiss boo boo" when she has a "boo boo" that she wants to be "all better". It's really cute! More often than not she'll hold out a finger with some phantom boo boo on it and say "Mama kiss it". Then she smiles and thinks her boo boo is all better! Mamas and Dadas can cure boo boos with kisses! It's fantastic!
As for our days, we try to keep busy with play dates with other moms/kids, story time at B & N or the library, playing at indoor playspaces like Mall Tots or Kidgits play area in the mall, walks to the park when it's nice outside, story time at the PEM, Music Man in Hamilton on Thursday mornings, and Tuesdays at Grammy's house. Some days we stay inside and do absolutely nothing except eat breakfast and lunch, play with toys, watch Sesame Street and Curious George (Mia's fave shows) and stay in our PJ's all day. Those days can make me pretty stir crazy but I try to limit them to no more than once a week. It's nice to get out of the house and stay active while Mia is having fun at the same time. I'm curious to see how our schedule will be once the winter, snow and cold sets in. Until then......we're enjoying the Fall!
