Mia turned 15 months old today. So much happens every week (every day even!) that it's hard to keep up with the blogs and record all these exciting happenings! Mia is an extremely verbal child at this point and says more than 50 words at this point. She adds a new word to her vocabulary pretty much every other day. She loves to express herself through her facial expressions and most everyone comments on the adorable and funny expressions she makes! Over the past month or so she has been making her "furrowed eyebrow" look at people and it's hilarious. She still has a never ending supply of energy and never ever stops moving! She virtually has no appetite for solid foods, sometimes only eating 3 or 4 small bites of food at each meal or sometimes even less. Some favorite foods she does eat a decent amount of are avocados, macaroni and cheese, blueberries and cheese (she LOVES cheese and will say "chss" chss" when she wants more). She still loves her "ba ba's" and will demand one when she wants one. It's been difficult to get her to drink milk out of a sippy cup, sometimes she will only drink 1 or 2 oz if it's in a sippy cup. However, she will suck down a 6 or 7 oz bottle of milk without a problem. Due to her lack of eating solid foods and knowing her main source of fat and calories are from the milk, I'm not really pushing the sippy cups because I'm worried about her nutrition. I'd rather her drink 6 oz of milk in a bottle than 2 oz in a cup if that is what she's going to do.
Other than her poor appetite for solid foods, Mia is doing so wonderful! She has such a great little personality, she is very sociable, very fearless and is extremely intelligent. She understands many things that Matt and I say to her and responds to requests and directives. ex) "Can you bring dada his slippers" or "Can you give mama a kiss?" or "Give mama the baba". She has also recently begun pretend feeding and putting her stuffed animals and baby dolls to sleep. She will pretend to feed her toys her bottle and make a noise while doing it "num num num". She also puts her bunny toys in their bed, put a blanket on them and say "night night". It's very cute. She is also very lovable and will give us a kiss when requested. Sometimes she will spontaneously kiss us and it is so great! She also recently started saying "nice" while petting a dog or cat and uses her "nice touch" instead of smacking or hitting the animals (which she used to do before we taught her the nice gentle way to pet animals). She also will point and say "baby" if she sees a picture of one, or on tv or in person.
